Aotter Co-founders: (Left) Hsieh Lun (Right) Su Peng-Han

Aotter co-founders Hsieh Lun and Su Peng-Han recently accepted an interview with Taiwan's renowned tech trend media "INSIDE," deeply exploring the importance of RMN (Retail Media Network) and pointing out that this is the fourth structural revolution in the digital advertising field. This revolution begins with the application of first-party data and DCR (Data Clean Room) technology, creating unprecedented business value for brands, retailers, and advertisers, thereby changing advertising behaviors and data exchange logic.

Digital Advertising New Era: RMN's Revolutionary Value

In the interview, Hsieh Lun stated: "Many people think RMN is just a disguised name for retail channels to ask brands and suppliers for money, but we believe that RMN is actually the fourth structural revolution in digital advertising." He further explained that RMN can thoroughly unleash the value of first-party data through the application of DCR technology, and help buyers and sellers better monetize their data assets under a data protection framework. Hsieh Lun believes that unlike the centralized data trading of major platforms like Google and Meta, RMN provides a decentralized data federation that allows enterprises to have complete control over their data and decide who to trade with.

This viewpoint stems from the background of increasing attention to data privacy protection and data management. As digital privacy policies become increasingly strict, the RMN of major online and offline retailers has brought rapid profit growth, specifically demonstrating that DCR technology has become a new mechanism for enterprises to maximize the use of first-party data within a secure framework. Since 2016, Aotter has been deeply cultivating the first-party data field. Even in the era when advertising audience targeting technology relied on third-party cookies, they chose to develop demand-side platforms (DSP) and supply-side platforms (SSP) with first-party data development as the core. This insight into the future enabled Aotter to steadily respond to the challenges of advertising revenue effectiveness and audience targeting after Apple's ATT (App Tracking Transparency) policy was launched and the post-cookie era arrived.

The Power of First-Party Data: From AotterTrek to Cross-Domain Collaboration

Aotter's AotterTrek First-Party DMP, launched in Q4 2023, provides enterprises with an environment of complete data control, offering a mechanism for reasonable data advertising transactions without obtaining enterprise member sensitive data. This innovation not only guarantees data security but also allows enterprises to achieve data autonomous management without relying on third-party data processing service providers. Hsieh Lun emphasized: "Our design allows enterprises to store data internally, ensuring that data will not be leaked, and even we as service providers cannot access it."

This technology has not only gained widespread recognition in the Taiwan market but has also given Aotter an important position on the international stage. This year, Aotter was invited to participate in the global tech event CES and received significant attention at the exhibition. Su Peng-Han pointed out that advertisers and enterprises in the US market have a high degree of alignment with the demand for first-party data and Aotter's solutions, which also proves that Aotter's product direction is correct.

Breaking Through Tradition: The Future of RMN and Data Federation

In October this year, the RMNR ecosystem jointly developed by Aotter and President Group officially went online, creating a new business model of data symbiosis. Su Peng-Han stated: "President Group's member data and retail data hold a leading position in the Taiwan market. Through our technology, President Group can monetize its data while protecting privacy, further improving advertising precision and effectiveness." This collaboration also represents Aotter's latest achievement in promoting the RMN concept and realizing data federation.

Hsieh Lun and Su Peng-Han believe that the future data economy will no longer rely on a single platform or single data provider, but will achieve synergy through building cross-domain data federations. Hsieh Lun revealed that Aotter is conducting a cross-industry collaboration called the "Nine-Grid Plan," which will deeply cooperate with demand-side platforms (DSP) in health, transportation, logistics, healthcare, media, and other industries to further expand the application scope of first-party data.

Global Vision: Advancing to International Markets

With the development of data and artificial intelligence technology, Aotter is also actively planning international expansion. Hsieh Lun stated: "We are conducting a new round of fundraising with a target of $3 million USD, and plan to bring our MarTech technology and data application services to the global market." Su Peng-Han pointed out that Aotter will be committed to bringing Taiwan's MarTech innovation to the global market and establishing strong technological and brand influence internationally.

Aotter's new funding round and collaboration with strategic investment institutions will become the core driving force for future digital advertising market transformation, providing brands, retailers, and advertisers with more forward-looking data solutions.
